GA ODP State Pools Full of Concorde Players - Tuesday, November 4, 2008

Concorde
Fire is again seen up and down the GA ODP State Pool Rosters. 42
Concorde Fire players have selected for the initial State Pools from
the 1992 - 1996 Boys and Girls. Concorde has increased from 38 players
in the 2007-2008 season to 42 players this 2008-2009 year. This number
may increase or decrease depending on the final selections from the
coaching staff as it trims the roster in preparation for ODP Regional
Camp in Alabama during the summer. Congratulations to all the
players!

Concorde Fire Players Going to ODP InterRegional - Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Julio
Jiminez and Nate Matthews-Leader have both been invited to the ODP
InterRegional Event over Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving InterRegional
brings the Regional teams (Region I, II, III, IV) to Orlando, FL at the
Disney Wide World of Sports on November 26, 2008 - December 1, 2008.
Jiminez plays on the U14 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite and Matthews-Leader
plays on the U14 Boy's Concorde Fire South Elite.
U16 Girl's Elite Impress at WAGS - Tuesday, October 14, 2008
The
U16 Girl's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, went
undefeated at the prestigeous WAGS Tournament in Washington DC. The
tournament was held on Columbus Day Weekend in the Washington DC area
and hosts some of the top teams from around the country in a Showcase
format. While there weren't any finals, the U16G Elite were deemed the
Champions due to their results compared to all of the 40 teams in the
tournament. They beat FC Bucks Rage (PAE) 6-1, Quickstrike FC (NYE)
1-0, and Match Fit Academy (NJ) 5-1.
U10 Boy's Win in U11 AFU Elite Invitational - Monday, October 13, 2008
The
U10 Boy's Concorde Fire Central Black, coached by Justin Towns, have
found success again at the AFU Elite Invitational. This time they
played up an age group with the U11 Boy's First Division. They went
undefeated by winning three games and drawing one by scoring 10 goals
and only givining away 3 goals in the four games.
Smith Going to the Thanksgiving InterRegional with U14 BNT - Thursday, October 9, 2008
Jacob
Smith will be going down to Orlando, FL over November 26 - December 1,
2008 with the U14 US Boy's National Team. Head Coach Manny
Schellscheidt has brought 38 players to the Boy's Thanksgiving
InterRegional Event to compete at the Disney Wide World of Sports
against the U15 ODP Regional Teams. Smith plays on the U14 Boy's Concorde Fire South Elite and was seen during this past summer's ODP Region Camp and this Fall's ODP National Camp.
Concorde Fire Players Brought to id2 Camp - Wednesday, October 8, 2008
Concorde
Fire was the only Georgia club to send a player to the US Club id2
Regional Training Camp held in New Jersey, October 2-5, 2008. 104
youth players born in 1995 and 1996 were selected from around the
country to train at PDA's training complex. Jack Gayton (U14 Boy's
Concorde Fire South Elite) and Nate Matthews-Leader (U14 Boy's Concorde
Fire South Elite) were in attendance at the camp.
Concorde Fire Win in CESA Classic - Tuesday, September 23, 2008
Concorde Fire took their annual
road trip to Greenville, SC to compete in the CESA Soccer Classic over
September 20-21, 2008. The tournament is hosted by the best club in
South Carolina and provides great competition from teams not normally
seen around the Atlanta. 5 teams were able to make the finals in their
respective divisions. The U11B Concorde Fire South Black (coached by
Colin Barnes), U13G Concorde Fire South Black (coached by Brian Moore),
and U15B Concorde Fire Elite (coached by Adrian Powell were all winners
and took home the recognizable Champions T-shirts. The U12B Concorde Fire White (coached by Jamie Hargather) and U17G Concorde Fire Black (coached by Ken Kurilec) also made the Championship game and ended up as finalists.

Concorde Fire Golf Tournament Announced - Wednesday, September 17, 2008
Concorde
Fire has announced the 2008 Golf Tournament at Bear's Best on
Wednesday, October 29th. The Golf Tournament is a club fundraiser held
at the prestigious golf club, Bear's Best. Each player will receive a
golfer's gift package apart of their registration fee, plus lunch and
dinner. Sponsorships
for holes and packages to include players in the tournament are
available and start at just $350. Early Bird Registration is
discounted for those who register before October 1st.
McCrary Heading to Residency - Wednesday, September 3, 2008
Concorde Fire's tradition of sending players into the US Soccer Residency continues with Jordan McCrary. He currently plays with the U16 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame. McCrary,
along with 16 other newcomers, has been invited to the Residency
Program in Bradenton, FL. This is a great honor for Jordan and his
family as he will seek to make the squad that will compete in the FIFA
Under-17 World Cup Qualifying Rounds!
Labor Day Brings Home More Trophies - Tuesday, September 2, 2008
Concorde
Fire was working hard on this Labor Day Weekend to bring back the
hardware for the final Pre-Season tournaments of the Fall. The
Concorde teams were scattered across the country competing in
Greensboro, NC, St. Louis, MO, and in our local Atlanta Cup. The first
winner came in North Carolina at the adidas Labor Day Shootout hosted by the Greensboro Soccer Club by way of the U17 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Ken Kurilec. Then in Atlanta,
Concorde Fire had 2 Champions and 2 Finalists at the Atlanta Cup. The
U11 Girl's Concorde Fire South Black, coached by Wayne Simmons, and U13
Girl's Concorde Fire Black, coached by Kostas Hatzikoutelis, were both
Champions of their divisions. The U10 Boy's Concorde Fire North White,
coached by Mike Gailey, and U15 Boy's Concorde Fire North Black,
coached by Pete Petersen, were both Finalists of their divisions.
Congrats to all the teams that competed this past weekend and good luck
in your seasonal play!

Preseason Tournaments Earn More Trophies - Monday, August 25, 2008
Concorde Fire continued their preseason tournaments by competing in the NASA Classic and adidas Cup hosted by Charlotte Soccer Club. 11 teams from the club were able to make the finals between both tournaments, while 5 were Champions of their respective divisions. Champions at the NASA Classic were U9 Boy's Concorde Fire Black (Towns), U9 Girl's Concorde Fire North Black (Madegwa), U10 Boy's Concorde Fire Black (Towns), U11 Girl's Concorde Fire South Black (Simmons), and U11 Girl's Concorde Fire North Black (Madegwa). Finalists at the NASA Classic were U9 Boy's Concorde Fire North Black (Gailey), U10 Boy's Concorde Fire White (Hammond), U11 Boy's Concorde Fire South Black (Barnes), and U13 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite (Moore). The U15 Girl's Concorde Fire Black (Burrow) and U17 Girl's Concorde Fire Black (Kurilec) were also Finalists at the adidas Cup in Charlotte, SC.

Concorde Fire Begins Preseason with 7 Trophies - Monday, August 18, 2008
Many Concorde Fire Teams began their preseason this past weekend at the Charlotte Invitational hosted by South Charlotte Soccer Association in North Carolina. 7 of these teams were able to make the final with 4 of them ending as tournament winners. Champions of their division were the U11G Concorde Fire South White (coached by Wayne Simmons), U12B Concorde Fire Black playing (coached by Paul Schwak), U14G Concorde Fire South Elite (coached by Mac Williams), and the U18B Concorde Fire South Black (coached by Richard Park). Finalists of the tournament were U13G Concorde Fire South Elite (coached by Brian Moore), U15B Concorde Fire Black (coached by Ryan Pollard), and U16G Concorde Fire South Black (coached by Colin Barnes). The preseason tournaments continue for the next two weekends before the GYSA season officially begins on September 6th.

U16 Girl's Go Undefeated in R3PL Opening Weekend - Monday, August 18, 2008
Concorde Fire goes undefeated in the opening weekend of Region III Premier League East. The huge depth of the U16 Girls at Concorde Fire had two teams playing CESA Premier (SC) and Bridge FA (SC). The U16G Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, won both games of their games with a 2-1 over Bridge FA and 2-0 over CESA Premier. The U16G Concorde Fire Black, coached by Ibrahim Abousaud, tied both of their games with a 0-0 result to CESA Premier and 2-2 against Bridge FA.
Concorde Fire U16 Boy's Make Quarter Finals at Surf - Monday, August 4, 2008
Concorde Fire has put another team through the tough group stages at the San Diego Surf Cup. The U16 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, were group winners in a difficult pairing with Pateadores, Arsenal FC, and Santa Clara Sporting. Unfortunately, the U16B Elite were unable to get past Real So Cal in the Quarter Finals.

The future of club looks bright as 4 players have left for the US U14 Boy's National ID Camp. The camp will run from August 3-7, 2008 in Boston, MA and will include the top 100 players in the country from all four regions. Julio Jiminez (U14B Concorde Fire Elite), Francisco Miranda (U14B Concorde Fire Elite), Cameron Moseley (U14B Concorde Fire Elite), and Jacob Smith (U14B Concorde Fire South Elite) were all invited to the first National Camp for this age group of the year.

Seiler Brought into National Camp - Saturday, August 2, 2008
Gabrielle Seiler will be coming back from National Camp today. After being selected to the Region III ODP Regional Pool as a '94 Holdover at Region Camp in Montevallo, AL, she was brought into the US U14 Girl's National ID Camp in Ponoma, CA from July 27, 2008 - August 2, 2008. The camp is the first camp for this age group that brings in all four Region Teams and includes the best 100 players in the entire country. She currently plays for the U14 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite.
Concorde Teams Head out to San Diego - Friday, August 1, 2008
Concorde Fire are sending 3 more teams out the San Diego, CA to compete against some the best teams in the entire country at the Surf Cup. The U16 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, the U16 Girl's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, and the U17 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Ken Kurilec, will be playing in the premier youth soccer tournament from August 2-4, 2008.
Referee Courses Hosted By Concorde Fire - Thursday, July 31, 2008
Concorde Fire will be hosting two referee courses in the coming weeks. The Grade 8 Bridge Course and Grade 9 Entry Level Course will be done at the Ashford-Dunwoody Complex. The Grade 8 Bridge Course is the upgrade for Grade 9 referee and will be on August 8th (6-9pm) and August 9th (10am-5pm). The Grade 9 Entry Level Course is for the brand new referee and will be on August 15th (6-9pm) and August 16th (10am-5pm). Both courses will be run by our own Referee Assignor, Ken Kurilec. Concorde Teams are Semi Finalists at Surf Cup - Tuesday, July 29, 2008
Concorde Fire have 2 Semi Finalists at Surf Cup, the U15 Boy's Concorde Elite and U14 Boy's Concorde Fire South Elite. The U15B Elite, coached by Adrian Powell, won their group with three wins, 8 goals scored and 0 goals allowed. They then went on to win the Quarter Final match 2-1 against Vegas United 94. They lost their Semi Final match against fellow USSD Academy compatriot Pateadores. The U14B South Elite, coached by Brian Moore, were also group winners with 2 wins and a draw, while scoring 6 and giving up 1. In their Quarter Final match, they came out winners 1-0 against Chula Vista Rangers. They lost to the eventual Champions, Arsenal FC, in the Semi Final. Both teams had great showings in the toughest state in the country and one of the premier tournaments around!
6 More Players Make ODP Region Pool - Friday, July 25, 2008
Concorde Fire proved again the amount of quality in the club by adding six players into the USYSA Region III 1995 Boy's ODP Pool. Jonathan Jarrett, Julio Jimenez, Nate Matthews-Leader, Francisco Miranda, Cameron Moseley, and Jacob Smith were all selected as standouts at ODP Region Camp. Camp was held July 13-17, 2008 in Tuscaloosa, AL at the University of Alabama. Jimenez, Miranda, Moseley, and Smith were chosen to be on the 1995 Boy's Region Team that will attend the U14 BNT Camp on August 3-7, 2008 in Boston, MA. Jarrett and Matthews-Leader were both picked for the Region Pool.

The U14 Boy's Concorde Fire South Elite, U15 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, and U15 Girl's Concorde Fire Elite are all making their final preparations before they leave for the West Coast and compete at the San Diego Surf Cup. The tournament will be from July 26-28, 2008. Surf Cup is one Premier tournaments in the country and one of the toughest tournaments to win because of the amount of quality coming out of Southern California. 3 Players are Held Over for the '94 ODP Region Pool - Tuesday, July 22, 2008
Three more players from Concorde Fire were recognized as standouts at this summer's USYSA Region III ODP Region Camp. This time it was for the 1994 Boy's. Adrian Alabi, Preston Gayton, and Bennett Yort were all selected by the Region Staff to stay on in the Holdover Camp. All three play on the U15 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, which were Regional Finalists this summer. Region Camp was held in Tuscaloosa, AL on the campus of the University of Alabama from July 8-12, 2008.

Jean-Carlos Quintero and Bennett Yort have been called in to National Camp for the US U15 BNT. They leave today for Chicago, IL and will be playing there from July 22-27, 2008. Both play on the USYSA Region III Finalists, U15 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite.
U18 Boy's Playing on ESPNU This Friday, 6pm EST - Thursday, July 17, 2008
The U18 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, will be on national television this Friday, July 18th at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. They will be playing their 5th Place Match against the Chicago Fire at the US Development Academy Finals Week. The game will be shown on ESPNU at 6pm (EST) this Friday night.
Seiler Picked for ODP Region Pool - Wednesday, July 16, 2008
Gabrielle Seiler has been selected into the 1994 Girls ODP Region III Pool. She plays on the U14 Girl's Concorde Fire Elite. She was identified as one of the top players during Region Camp in Montevallo, AL from July 12-16, 2008. She is currently still at camp with the other Holdovers until July 19th.
US Development Academy Awards Announced - Tuesday, July 15, 2008
Concorde Fire has been honored with the end of the season awards from the US Development Academy. 4 players off the Concorde Fire U18 Boy's have been put into the Southeast Conference Starting XI. Nicky Burton, Kevan George, Riley Sumpter, and Taylor White were all put into the team through their efforts during the past year. To top it off, Gregg Blasingame was announced as the Conference Coach of the Year!

Cody Mizell has won the Golden Glove Award at ESP '08 Camp. The Golden Glove is awarded to the top goalkeeper during the prestigious camp that places the top players in the country in an invite-only setting. Mizell plays for the U17 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite. Congratulations to Cody!
Concorde Has 6 Invited to ESP '08 - Monday, July 7, 2008
Concorde Fire has once again shown the quality of the club by having 6 players (the most of any GA club) invited to the prestigious ESP '08 Camp. Elite Soccer Program is one of the most recognizable camps in the country that is an invite only for the highest level players and coached by some of the best soccer staff around. Robert Botchway (U16B Elite), Arturo Cruz (U16B Elite), John Davidson (U16B Elite), Darvin Ebanks (U16B Elite), Jordan McCrary (U16B Elite) and Cody Mizell (U17B Elite) were all invited. Unfortunately, McCrary is the only one unable to attend due to an injury. The Camp will run from July 3-8, 2008 in Denver, CO.
Concorde Fire U18 Boy's Clinch Academy Conference - Saturday, June 28, 2008
The Concorde Fire U18 Boy's Academy Team, coached by Gregg Blasingame, have clinched the Southeast Conference of the USSF Development Academy. They are currently competing in the Academy Summer Showcase in Greensboro, NC and have won the Conference. That puts them into the Academy Finals Week in Carson, CA at the Home Depot Center July 12-19 and also on national television with ESPN2 or ESPNU for their crossover game. They already know they will face CASL (NC) - Atlantic Champion, Crew (OH) - Great Lakes Champion, and LAFC (SoC) - So Cal Champion during group play. Congratulations to Gregg, the players and their families!
Development Academy Finals to be Televised on ESPN Network - Friday, June 27, 2008
The USSF Developmental Academy Finals Week will be televised by the ESPN Network on July 12-19, 2008 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. In the Academy's inaugural year, the Finals Week will comprise of the 8 Conference winners from around the country competing in a 2 groups of 4 tournament. After round robin play, their will be a cross-over between groups to determine final placements of the tournament. All eight of the cross-over games will be televised highlighted by the U18 Final on ESPN2, Friday, July 18th at 8pm PT. All the other games will be televised on ESPNU.
U14 Boy's Elite are Regional Finalists - Thursday, June 26, 2008
The U14 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Adrian Powell, were finalists at the 2008 USYSA Southern Regionals in Raleigh, NC. The USYSA National Championship Series is the highest level tournament in the country for Under - 14 teams. The U14B Elite were group winners by winning all three of their games; 3-0 (MSC Lakers - LA), 4-0 (ICFC 94 Black - AR) and 1-0 (Kendall Soccer Coalition - FL). They went on to win the Quarter Finals in PK's against Bridge FA 93 Gold (SC) after a 0-0 score in regulation. They won the Semi Final 2-1 against Central Jackson SO (MS). In the Final they faced a familiar foe in South Charlotte SC (NC) and came up short of the title by losing 0-2. Congrats to Adrian, the players and all the families!
O'Hara Helps US U20 WNT Qualify for World Cup - Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Kelley O'Hara scored her six goal in four games to tie her for the Team and Tournament lead during the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament. O'Hara scored the third goal of the game in the Semi Final match against Mexico, which the US won 4-0. The win puts the US U20 Women's National Team into the Championship on Saturday, June 28th, against Canada. It also qualifies the US to their fourth time they have qualified for the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup.
O'Hara Named to DiCicco's U20 WNT Roster - Wednesday, June 18, 2008
Tony DiCicco has named his U20 WNT Roster for the CONCACAF Qualifying for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup. Kelley O'Hara has been called into the squad that will face Trinidad & Tobago, Cuba and Mexico in Group A play. The Semi Finals will be played on June 25 with the Third Place Match and Finals being played on June 28. The top 3 teams from the tournament will qualify for the World Cup in November in Chile.

Concorde Fire has 3 teams playing in the second stage of the USYSA National Championship Series (U14 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, U17 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, and U18 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite). The U14B Elite, coached by Adrian Powell, have been paired with MSC Lakers (LA), ICFC 94 Black (AR), and Kendall Soccer Coalition (FL). The U17B Elite, coached by Mark Tonner, are grouped with KFC Crush Liverpool (TN), DSC 90 Green (SC), and Gulf Coast United (PL-C). The U18G South Elite, coached by Brian Moore, are playing against ESC Black (OK), DFeeters 90 (PL-W), and CASL Spartan Elite (NC). Good luck to all the teams in North Carolina!
USSD Academy Tryouts Begins Monday - Sunday, June 8, 2008
Concorde Fire will be hosting Tryouts for the upcoming 2008-2009 season for both the rising U16 and U18 teams. Boys with birth dates from January 1, 1992 and younger interested in playing will be eligible for the U16 team. Boys with birth dates from January 1, 1990 to December 31, 1991 will be eligible for the U18 team. Tryouts for these age groups will be at Ridgeview Middle School (U16 from 6:45pm to 8:15pm, U18 from 8:30pm to 10:00pm).
Final Four Weekend Brings Home Two More Cups - Sunday, June 8, 2008
Concorde Fire took 9 teams into the GYSA State Cup Final Four Weekend. After the first day, 4 teams made the finals (U13B Concorde Fire South Elite, U14B Concorde Fire Elite, U15B Concorde Fire Elite, and U15G Concorde Fire Elite) and 1 team qualified for Regionals (U18G Concorde Fire South Elite). Although the U18G South Elite, coached by Brian Moore, were knocked out on Saturday, they found out they qualified to Regionals through their Premier League standing. All the remaining Concorde Boy's teams had the early game at 9am. The U13B South Elite, coached by Brian Moore, started things off winning their Final 1-0 in a closely fought game with NASA Elite. Then the U14B Elite, coached by Adrian Powell, continued the winning ways by defeating Ambush 2-1 in a thriller after coming back from being down a goal. The U15B Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, were in a battle with GSA Red and valiantly lost 1-2. In the afternoon game the U15G Elite, coached by Blasingame, faced a similar foe in GSA Red. They too, weren't able to get the better side of them and lost 1-3. After 2 weekends in sweltering Columbus, GA, Concorde Fire has come back with 5 Semi Finalists, 2 Finalists, 2 State Cup Champions and 3 teams who will be competing in the 2008 Southern Regionals.

O'Hara Going to Park City, Utah - Friday, June 6, 2008
Kelley O'Hara and the US U20 Women's National Team will be in Park City, Utah for training for their CONCACAF Qualifying games. The high altitude training is preparing the team for games against Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba and Mexico at 7,000 feet. They will be in Utah from June 8 - 13. O'Hara is the second player this week from the 88 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite called into National Camp.
Rutledge Called into U23 Camp - Thursday, June 5, 2008
Malorie Rutledge has been called into the United States U23 Women's National Team Camp held at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California from June 5 - 12. Rutledge played with the '88 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite that advanced to the Semi Finals at Regionals last year in Oklahoma. This is the second camp Rutledge has been called in after beginning her collegiate career at LSU. She will be the youngest of the players attending the camp.

Concorde Fire has 9 teams advance out of their brackets and into the Semi Final Weekend at the GYSA State Cup. The most impressive was the U15 Girl's age group in which two Concorde Fire teams advanced, the U15G Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, and U15G Concorde Fire Black, coached by Ibrahim Abousaud. The rest of the girl's program had the #11th Seed U13G Concorde Fire South Black, coached by Mac Williams, and the U18G Concorde Fire South Elite, coached by Brian Moore. The #1 (U13 Boy's Concorde Fire South Elite - Moore) and #2 (U13 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite - Abousaud) booked their next weekend by winning their groups. Both Abousaud and Moore guided two teams into the Semi Finals. To finish off the rest of the boy's side were the U14B Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Adrian Powell, U15B Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Gregg Blasingame, and U17B Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Mark Tonner. Joining Abousaud and Moore was Blasingame having two of his teams playing this coming Saturday. Congratulations to all the teams for such a great weekend of soccer in the extreme heat!
State Cup Begins This Weekend - Friday, May 30, 2008
GYSA State Cup for the Boy's and Girl's, U13 to U19 begins group play this Saturday, May 31, 2008. Games will be played in Columbus, GA all weekend and conclude on Monday, June 2, 2008. Concorde Fire will be sending an amazing 19 teams into the group stage of State Cup, all with hope of advancing to the second weekend to play in the Semifinals and Final. Two "Parades" For Concorde Fire Players - Wednesday, May 28, 2008
Parade Magazine has recognized two Concorde Fire players on their Parade All-America High School Soccer Teams, Bryan Dominguez and Michelle Olivier. Each year Parade Magazine acknowledges the top 38 High School players in soccer in the country. This is the second year running Dominguez has been on this prestigious list. For Michelle, this is her first Parade All-America, but has completed her high school career with a highly decorative award list: twice a NSCAA All-America, Regional ODP player, and numerous US Youth National Team call-ups. These were the only selections on the list from the state of Georgia. Dominguez will be going to UC - Santa Barbara in the Fall, while Olivier will be attending Portland University. Congratulations to both players and families!
Concorde Teams Win in Memorial Day Tournaments - Tuesday, May 27, 2008
On a busy Memorial Day Weekend, Concorde Fire teams end their season on a good note by making the finals. At the GSA Super Cup, 5 Concorde teams played on Monday in their respective Finals. The U9 Boy's Concorde Fire Black, coached by Justin Towns, won the U10 bracket by beating our U10 Boy's Concorde Fire South White, coached by Colin Barnes, in the final 1-0. The U10 Girl's Concorde Fire Black, coached by Kostas Hatzikoutelis, were finalists, narrowly losing in the final after scoring 7 goals and allowing 1 goal in their first 3 wins. The U12 Girl's Concorde Fire South White, coached by Angelo Yokaris, followed a similar fate by scoring 7 goals and only allowing 1 goal in 3 games, but couldn't find success in the final. The U13 Boy's Concorde Fire South Black, coached by Richard Park, reached their second consecutive tournament final by scoring 7 goals and allowing 2 goals during group play, only to lose 0-1 in the final. Concorde Fire also had winners at the Canterbury Cup where the U10 Girl's Concorde Fire North Black and U12 Boy's Concorde Fire White were champions. The U10 Girl's North Black, coached by Toni Madewga, won their division by scoring 16 goals and letting in 3 during 4 games and winning the final 4-0. The U12 Boy's White, coached by Matt Cox, were champions by scoring 8 and allowing 2 goals and winning the closely fought final 1-0. Congratulations to all the teams, parents, and players!

USSD Academy Spring Showcase Kicks Off - Saturday, May 24, 2008
The US Soccer Development Academy Spring Showcase 2008 begins Saturday, May 24th, 2008 in Rockford, IL. All 63 Academy clubs will bring their U16 and U18 Boy's to compete in 3 games each over 4 days, totaling 188 games for the event. Concorde Fire will be playing against BW Gottschee, Real Colorado, and Colorado Rapids during the Showcase. There will be over 100 college coaches in attendance, including the USSF National Staff coaches and scouts.
Fire Heading to Manchester United Premier Cup - Friday, May 23, 2008
Concorde Fire has made their way to Beaverton, OR for the Manchester United Premier Cup. The Man. Utd Premier Cup is largest tournament in the world for this age group with over 6,000 teams world-wide and will run from May 22-26, 2008. The combination of our U15 and U14 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite teams will represent the Fire in this very selective tournament. Concorde Fire is the only club from Georgia to be accepted into the 32 team tournament. The winner of the tournament will go to World Finals held in Manchester, England from July 12-21, 2008. The team will be coached by Adrian Powell and have been drawn in a very tough group with Irvine Strikers (CA-S), Dallas Texans (TX-N), and Sereno (AZ).

Soccer Buzz Magazine has recognized four Concorde Fire players in their Top 200 US High School Recruits for 2008. Soccer Buzz is one of the leading websites for Women's Soccer in the country for both youth and collegiate. They have identified Michelle Olivier (#18), Bailey Powell (#51-75), Candace West (#76-100), and Laura McCalla (#151-200) in their Top #200. All four players currently are playing for our U18 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite, coached by Brian Moore.
GYSA League Wins and Promotion for the Fire - Wednesday, May 21, 2008
The GYSA Athena and Classic Spring '08 Seasons are finishing and Concorde Fire have 3 winners and 1 team promoted. The most impressive of these teams is the U14 Boy's Concorde Fire Black, coached by Ryan Pollard. After being promoted from Classic III in the Fall '07, the U14 Boy's Black have won Classic II and will compete in Classic I next season. After completing the 2 successive promotions in one year, the team went on to upset the #13 seed, GFC Elite, 3-0 away in the GA State Cup Play-In game this past weekend. The U14 Girl's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Ken Kurelic, won promotion to Athena A with a win last night. They will also be competing in State Cup after their Play-In Game win over GFC Elite. In the U13 age groups, both top divisions were won by Fire teams. The U13 Boy's Concorde Fire South Elite, coached by Brian Moore, won Classic I. This is their fourth time in 2 years they have been a U13 Champion (Classic IV - Fall '06, Classic II - Spring '07, Classic I - Fall '07 and Spring '08). To finish off the titles this season was the U13 Girl's Concorde Fire South Black, coached by Mac Williams. They went on to win Athena A after claiming the Athena B/C championship in the Fall. Congratulations to all the teams, players, and parents! The future of the club looks bright with so much success at the younger age groups.
Barbaree Named GA Gatorade Player of the Year - Tuesday, May 20, 2008
Connor Barbaree has been announced as the 2007-2008 Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year. The Gatorade Player of the Year recognizes the top male and female athlete in their respective sports during the High School season. He becomes the second player in the club to achieve this honor behind Cameron Lewis in 2002-2003. Barbaree plays on the current U18 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite in the US Soccer Development Academy. He will be attending Clemson University in the Fall. Congratulations to Connor and his family!

It was a good weekend for Concorde Fire teams at their end of the season tournaments. The U12 Girl's Concorde Fire North Black, coached by Mark Thornton, were Champions at the GYSA Academy Cup. They won all four games scoring 13 and only allowing 2 goals. The U11 Girl's Concorde Fire North Black, coached by Karl Haggon, were Champions of the ASA Xtreme Cup winning in the finals 3-0 against our own U11 Girl's Concorde Fire Central White, coached by Josh McGlamery. The U11 Girl's North Black went the entire weekend without allowing a goal and scoring 11. The U11 Girl's Central White got to the finals scoring 6 goals and allowing 2. Finally, the U13 Boy's Concorde Fire South Black, coached by Richard Park, were Champions of the Atlanta Peach Classic. They won in the finals 2-1 against the Thunder Gold. The boys went through the weekend scoring 9 goals and allowing 5. Congratulations to all the teams!

Concorde Fire Goes Undefeated Against National Teams - Monday 19, 2008
Both Concorde Fire Academy teams were undefeated this past weekend against the US Youth National Teams. The U18 Boy's began the day with a 3-2 victory with goals from Nicky Burton and two from Riley Sumpter. All three goals were scored in the first half from Concorde Fire and were enough to give the U18 US Youth National Team their first loss of the season in USSD Academy league play. The U16 Boy's finished the day with a 0-0 draw, while causing some incredible point blank saves from the US goalkeeper. This was only the fourth time all season the U16 US Youth National Team has not won in 16 games.

Bryan Dominguez and the U18 Men's National Team are going to the Lisbon International Tournament. Dominguez has been selected by Head Coach Bob Jenkins as part of the 18 man roster to play in the tournament against Norway, Portugal and Sweden. The tournament will begin May 21st in Lisbon, Portugal.

The U13 Girl's Concorde Fire North Black, coached by Stafford Zeon, have won the Georgia President's Cup for 2008. They went 3-0 during group play, while scoring 9 goals and only letting 2 against. In the final they beat the PTC Lazers 2-0 for the championship. With the win they are now qualified to compete at the Region III President's Cup held in Columbus, GA over June 13-15, 2008. O'Hara Called into U20 WNT Training Camp - Sunday, May 11, 2008
Kelley O'Hara has been called into the U20 Women's National Team Training Camp in Clemson, SC from May 12-27. Head Coach Tony DiCicco has brought 26 players into camp to prepare for their upcoming CONCACAF Qualifications in June. They will be training for 2 weeks, while playing in a few scrimmages. One of those games will be against the W-League Atlanta Silverbacks on May 22nd.

Concorde Fire's Robert Botchway and Jordan McCrary have been selected by Jim Barlow to attend the Spain Training Camp with the U15 Boy's National Team. The win for the U14 Boy's Elite, coached by Adrian Powell, put them tied at the top of the Region III Premier League East standings. The Southern Regionals will be held in Raleigh, NC from June 19th to 25th, 2008. They now join our U17 Boy's Elite team, who qualified for Regionals during their Fall RIIIPL East season. Concorde Fire teams competed this past weekend in the AFU Academy Classic and Coweta Cannons Challenge Cup. Both the U11 Boy's Concorde Fire North Black (coached by Mike Vialpando) and the U12 Girl's Concorde Fire South White (coached by Angelo Yokaris) were champions in their brackets at the AFU tournament. The U11B North Black won in the final 5-2 against AFU Bronze, while compiling a 18 Goals For and 5 Goals Against in the process. The U12G South White beat Lady Patriots Revolution in the final 4-1 finishing the tournament scoring 14 Goals For and only allowing 3 Goals Against. In the Cannons Challenge Cup, the U15 Girl's Concorde Fire South Black (coached by Colin Barnes) were finalists to the Stars '12 Elite. They finished the tournament scoring 14 Goals For and allowing 3 Goals Against.

Concorde Fire U13 Boy's South Elite were finalists at the Team Ohio FC Nike Challenge Cup this past weekend, April 26th - 27th. The U13B South Elite, coached by Brian Moore, were undefeated in the three team group play and won their semi final scoring 6 goals and only giving up 1. They played against Javanon (KY), Carmel United (IN), Sycamore Arsenal (OH), and lost to Team Ohio FC Juventus (OH) in the final.

Jordan McCrary and Brendan Moore have both been called into National Camp from Wednesday, April 23rd to Sunday, April 27th. They will be attending the camp in Bradenton, FL in front of the USSF National Staff. McCrary currently plays on the U15 Boy's Elite team and has demonstrated his ability in prior National Camps. Moore is currently on the U16 USSD Academy Team and has been seen by the National Staff during their Academy league games.
Concorde Are Finalists at Impact Premier Cup - Monday, April 21, 2008
The U12 Girls Concorde Fire South Black were finalists this weekend at the Impact Premier Cup in Knoxville, TN held by the Nike Impact. The girls, coached by Angelo Yokaris, won their first three games, including the eventual champions, by scoring 3 goals in each game and only allowing 2. They played against great out of state competition from Nike Impact and Smokey Mountain, both from Tennessee. Unfortunately, they could not replicate the same score in the final and dropped the game 1-2.
USSD Academy Adds Depth for 2008-2009 - Friday, April 18, 2008
US Soccer Developmental Academy adds more to its impressive inaugural year by admitting twelve more clubs, including three MLS teams for the upcoming year. FC Dallas, New England Revolution, and the LA Galaxy will all add teams into the already highly competitive USSD Academy for 2008-2009 and Kansas City Wizards will join for the 2009-2010 season. One of the twelve will be Soccer America's #1 Club in the country, Dallas Texans, along with a host of Texas and California based teams. These additions make the USSD Academy the highest quality league in the country. Currently, the Concorde Fire U18 Boy's sit atop the table in the Southeast Division.

Bailey Powell traveled with the 1990 Region III ODP Team to Europe from March 26th through April 4th. On their trip, they played teams in Belgium, England and Holland winning 3 games and drawing the another. Powell currently plays with the U18G Concorde Fire South Elite team.

Sparks and Flames, the Under-6 and Under-8 recreational program, will have its seasonal "Picture Day" this Sunday, April 6th. Olivier and U18 WNT Go Undefeated in La Manga - Saturday, March 15, 2008
Concorde Fire's Michelle Olivier, off the U18 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite, and the U18 WNT went undefeated in La Manga, Spain. They competed against the likes of Sweden's U19, Norway's U19, and France's U19 teams along the way. They beat Sweden 2-0 and Norway 1-0, while drawing with France 1-1 in their last game. Their record put them in second place for the tournament behind Italy's U19 squad that won all of their group matches on the other side of the bracket.
O'Hara Scores Again in Cyprus - Tuesday, March 11, 2008
Kelley O'Hara and the rest of the US U20 Women's National Team booked their place in the Final of the Cyprus Women's Cup 2008 on March 12th. They won their final group game 2-0 against the full Netherlands National Team. O'Hara scored the game winner and second goal of the tournament. Off the USSoccer website she is quoted as, "I think the best part of the game was the second half and our ability to hold onto the lead and post the shut out." They will face the full Canadian National Team on Wednesday.

The U13G Concorde Fire South Black (coached by Mac Williams) wins the Silver Division at the prestigious Vulcan Cup in Birmingham, AL. The girls went to the finals by defeating the joint group winners (Roswell Santos) in the PK Shootout decider. In the finals, they won 2-1 in a close encounter with CESA Premier (SC). They went 3-0-1 on the weekend, scoring 10 goals and only allowing one.

The U13 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, coached by Ibrahim Abousaud, will be making the trip to the Dallas to compete in one of the most prestigious youth tournaments in the country, Dallas Cup. The tournament is held from Sunday, March 16th to March 22nd with teams from around the world. They are grouped with CFI Guadalajara (Mexico), FC Barcelona USA (California), and NJSA 04 United (New Jersey). The boys will also be able watch worldy renowned U19 teams from Liverpool FC (England), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Tigres (Mexico), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), and Benfica (Portugal).

Preston Gayton, from the U14 Boy's Concorde Fire Elite, has gone with the Region III '94 ODP team to Costa Rica. They will be gone from March 6th to March 14th. There the team is scheduled to play against local clubs Alajeula, Heredia, Saprissa, and the Costa Rican Region team.
O'Hara in Cyprus with the U20 WNT - Tuesday, March 4, 2008
Kelley O'Hara has been called in once again for Tony Dicicco's U20 WNT. The U20's are competing in the Cyprus Women's Cup 2008 against full national teams. They will play against Scotland, Russia, and the Netherlands. The game against Russia's full national team is a non-tournament game that won't count towards the three-team group play. The tournament will be doing this to give four games to all the participants.

Olivier Going to Spain with U18 WNT - Monday, February 25, 2008
After finishing up National Camp and beating local colleges Pepperdine 3-0, UC-Irvine 4-1, and UCLA 4-2, Tony DiCicco announced the team that will travel to La Manga, Spain. From March 7-16, the U18 WNT will travel to Spain to compete against Sweden (U19), Norway (U19), and France (U19) to help these teams prepare for their European Championship this summer.

Concorde Fire's Michelle Olivier has been called into the US U18 Women National Team Camp. It is the first team camp held for the U18 WNT of the year and the first since 2001. The camp will go from February 17 - 24, 2008 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.
O'Hara and U20 WNT Win 4 Nations Tournament - Friday, February 15, 2008
Kelley O'Hara and the US U20 Womens National Team won the Four Nations Tournament held in Chile. They won all three of their matches beating England 1-0, Norway 2-1, and Chile 5-1. O'Hara finished the tournament with 2 goals in the final game.

The Concorde Fire U14G North Black continued the success during the preseason at the RYSA Cup '08. The girls (coached by Stafford Zeon) went undefeated during group play and came up short against the RYSA Sporting FC Blue in the final, 1-2. The team scored 5 goals and let in 3 during the tournament in their preparation before the Challenge Cup coming up this weekend.

Casino Night at Concorde Fire came and was a huge success for the club. Hosted at the Temple on Saturday night, February 9th, over 300 family members and friends of Concorde Fire enjoyed the festivities and wonderful food. Concorde Fire has over 40 players that will be extending their soccer careers past youth soccer and into the collegiate ranks. Concorde Fire Teams start the Spring season with wins at the 2008 adidas Invitational. The U13 Boys Concorde Fire Elite (coached by Ibrahim Abousaud) and U18 Boys Concorde Fire Black (coached by Ken Kurelic and Mike Vialpando for the tournament) both won their age groups. The U13B Concorde Fire Elite were champions of the Blue Division by winning all four games with a 15 goals for and 3 goals against in the process. The U18B Concorde Fire Black were champions of the Open Division by winning all four games with 17 goals for and only 1 goal against.

O'Hara Going to Chile with U20 WNT - Friday, February 1, 2008
Kelley O'Hara will be traveling with the rest of the U20 Women's National Team to Chile from February 7 - 17, 2008. This trip is for continuing preparations for qualifications to the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup held November 20 - December 7 in Chile. Concorde Fire Start Season in Savannah - Monday, January 28, 2008
The U13 Boy's Concorde Fire Black (coached by Mike Vialpando) reached the finals at the CGSA Savannah Cup Boy's Rule! The tournament was held in Savannah, GA from January 26-27. The team went through group play undefeated, scoring 2 goals and not allowing any goals in three games. They narrowly lost in the finals to the CGSA Rovers 2-3.

O'Hara Called into U20 WNT Camp - Saturday, January 26, 2008
Kelley O'Hara has been called into the first U20 Women's National Team Camp of the year. The team was brought into the Home Depot Center in California from January 19-25, 2008. Upon finishing Camp, head coach Jillian Ellis was promoted to the Full Women's National Team as an assistant, while legendary coach Tony DiCicco has replaced her as the U20 WNT head coach.
Dominguez Called in to U18 MNT Mega Camp - Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Bryan Dominguez has been called into the US U18 Men's National Team Camp at the IMG Academies in Bradenton, FL. Head Coach Bob Jenkins announced his list of 72 players invited in for the mega-camp from January 17-24, 2008. Players on this roster will be the core age-group for the 2009 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt with Under-20 head coach Thomas Rongen.
Olivier, Powell, and West Honored by NSCAA - Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Concorde Fire's Michelle, Bailey Powell, Olivier and Candace West will be honored as an NSCAA Youth All-Americans. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announces their High School Youth All-Americans to 80 players from around the country. All three players are currently on the U18 Girl's Concorde Fire South Elite. Bailey Powell has also been recognized to the NSCAA Academic All-American list. She is one of 35 student athletes from across the country to be honored with such an award. NSCAA will hold its annual Convention this weekend in which she will receive her award in Baltimore, MD at the All-American Luncheon.

Concorde Fire Elite U16B Alexander Sandland has been invited to compete in London with other standouts from the Disney Showcase this past December. The All-Star team will play in the inaugural Chelsea FC Youth Cup in London coming up in August 2008.
Concorde Teams Do Well in FL - Thursday, January 03, 2008
Concorde Fire had many teams competing in Florida during the holidays at the Disney Showcase, Orange Classic, and Tampa Sun Bowl. At the Disney Showcase, the U17B Concorde Fire Elite (coached by Mark Tonner), U18B Concorde Fire Elite (coached by Gregg Blasingame), and U18G Concorde Elite (coached by Mark Thornton) all won their groups and were semifinalists. The U15B Concorde Fire Elite (coached by Gregg Blasingame) were the lone champions going undefeated and winning in the finals 1-0 to Beach FC Red – Fire (VA). The U15G Concorde Fire North Black (coached by Stafford Zeon) were semifinalists at the Orange Classic after winning their group.
